Response to Negative Nancy Blog:
Yes, I'm her boss and answering phones is not my primary job. I handle all the account issues, like o/c schedules, changes, etc. (We have about 250 accounts that I handle) I can answer phones if the other operators are overwhelmed with calls. which they were not. It's not a big deal, it was just her tone and wording that ticked me off. She could have said "We are backed up, can you help us out?". Anyways I'm almost over it. (Jodi, I'm not killing her with kindness at this time).
On to other things:
So the other day I had to go home on my lunch to pick up Brandon and Gabey, because Lexi had a basketball game that night and he needed the van. Well this is the day of the inauguration and I was listening to it on the radio as Brandon and Gabey got into the car. Well after about 5 minutes it was over and I turned the radio down.
Brandon: Guess what happened today?
Me: What?
Brandon: I was sleeping and I heard the doorbell. I wasn't going to get up and answer it, but the door bell ring became a loud banging on the front door.
Me: Who was banging on the door?
Brandon: I looked out the peephole and it was the Police
Me:Police? What happened?
Brandon: My mom called the police and told them to come over and tell me to call her
Me: Your mom called the Police to have them give you a phone message
Brandon: yep
Me: I hope everything is OK
At this point I should tell you 2 things:
1. Brandon's mother is confined to a wheelchair and is disabled and had a lot of health problems
2. We only have a pre-paid cell phone right now and we use the last of the minutes the night before talking to his mom and Brandon told her we had no more minutes and he would call her when we did
OK, so this may be an actual emergency, He drops me off at work and goes to get some minutes for the phone. About 30 minutes later he calls me at work.
Me: Hello
Brandon: I just talked to my mom
Me: what's going on
Brandon: she wanted to know if i knew where Jason was (Brandon's brother), because he has an appointment today @ 1pm
Me: that's why your mom called the police over to our house? to get a message to your brother?
Brandon: yes
OK, the conversation did go on from there but you get the point, the "Crazies" are everywhere, and sometimes they call the police to come to your house to find a person who doesn't live there.
Wow! Where do I begin? I seriosly can't believe she called the police! Isn't Jason old enough to be responsible to make it to his own appointments? Was Brandon mad? I would have been furious. Did she call 911? I'm surprised the police followed through with the request. Sure glad I'm not related to that Crazy!
