Update Alert

First of all I would like to let everyone know that I finished my first class on 9/12 with a 96 percent. It was a pretty easy class, but it did seem to take up a lot of my time. I really wanted to blog, but after sitting here doing homework I just didn't have the energy. Everyone else in the family is going pretty well. Brandon seems to have his diabetes under control, he is eating better and we are trying to go for walks a couple of times a week. On this note we went to the riverfront on Saturday and here are some pics.

This is a picture of Brandon and the kids running around the Four Freedom Monument.

This in front of a war monument, Amaya is scared of the army guys and does not want to be in this picture at all.

And here we are on the balcony that goes over the riverfront seating. Brandon's not in this picture because he is scared to stand that close to the railing and he was freaking out the whole time I took this picture. Yes I'm serious!!

Alexis, Darian and Amaya all start different after school programs this week. Alexis starts volleyball, Darian is doing lifetime sports and Amaya will be doing Girl Scouts (which I am ex specially excited about). Alexis also did a basketball camp this past summer at Central High School and was hand picked by that coach to participate in a feeder school league at Central. She will also be playing for her school team when that starts up. I don't really have a Gabey update yet, but I do have a funny story. The other night I was online doing my homework and he came up to me and said:

Gabey: Darian pushed my heart (this is sort of mumbled and he is holding his heart area)
Me: Darian pushed your heart?
Gabey: NO, Daddy crushed my heart! He hurt my feelings.
Me: What did he do?
Gabey: I was in the kitchen and was tryin to eat some chicken and he said I had to wait til supper was done. (when Gabey told me this it took a lot of translation)
Me: HooKay, Well I go spank Daddy for "crushing" your heart.

Wow, Gabey is serious about his chicken! I'm glad I didn't "crush" his heart.

  1. Way to go on your class!! I knew you would do well. You are a smartie.

Glad to hear Brandon is getting his diabetes under control.

The pics by the riverfront look like fun. I have taken the kids to the museum before but never anything outside. I'm scared down there, :( Next time I'm in town we should take all the kids. Nobody would dare bother us with that much noise and energy in tow.

I think Amaya will like Girl Scouts. Are you really excited or were you being sarcastic? Hannah just started too and Rachel just started her 6th year of Scouts. Aaron does Boy Scouts and this is his 3rd year.

I'm jealous of Lexi's athletic abilities. Wish I had an ounce of what she has.

I wish you could come down with our moms.

  2. Oh, I forgot. I thought it was very funny that Brandon is freaked out over the whole "too close to the railing" thing. We have a deck off our back door. The yard slopes so the front of the house is ground level, but the back is second story from the backyard. When you walk out onto the deck you are a story above ground. Your mother would sit out there to "indulge." I would stand next to the rail just to freak her out. Too funny!!!

  3. I need to get your email address so I don't have to leave messages on here. Yes, we do need to go camping. I already told my kids and your mom that when it gets a bit closer to summer we have to set some dates where we can all go camping. Our kids would have such a great time together!!
